Many of our customers have water problems on a home they recently purchased. Most home inspectors are experts on structural issues but not water. Give us a call before you buy your new home and our experts will come do a site evaluation. We can give you information about past water problems by the evidence it leaves.
Yard drains are installed specifically to reduce the accumulation of bulk surface water. Catch basins are used as collection points in the lowest area of the yard. A solid pipe is installed underground and connected to the basin to direct the surface water out to the discharge area. Yard drains and French drains can be used together to reduce the amount of water on the property.
No two properties are alike, therefore no two French drains should be built alike. Our French drains are maintenance-free and last a lifetime.
If possible, we first cut the grass with a sod cutter and excavate a trench at a minimum of 12" wide by 12" deep. We only use quality Baughman drain tile and a non-woven Geotextile fabric in all of our systems. All of the dirt is removed and replaced with pipe and stone.
In our French drains, we never use catch basins, because dirt could get into the system. A pipe that is wrapped with fabric and little pea stone should never be used.
We install sump pumps and new sump pump drain lines. We also repair broken sump pump lines. If access to a storm sewer is possible we will apply for all the required permits.
Many people believe they need new gutters when all they really need are larger downspouts. The standard downspout has a 2-inch opening which leads to a 2x3 downspout. We can upgrade your downspouts with our heavy rain kit, which has a 17 square inch opening that self cleans and attaches to a 3x4 downspout.
Yard drainage begins at your gutters. If your downspouts discharge 3-10 feet away from your house give us a call. An inch rainfall on a 1000 square foot home equals 720 gallons of water. You should not have that much water collect next to your foundation.
A golf course flat lawn is just a phone call away. We can level your lawn and improve drainage at the same time. We use the same techniques and materials that golf courses use to make nice flat lawns.
